3. ADDRESS & DRIVEWAYS
Carroll County Zoning is contracted to assist our 911 services by issuing address numbers and relaying requests for green address marker/posts for properties in Carroll County (this does not include inside city/village limits). If you own property in the county and need a property address issued OR have a property address related problem (such as damage to an existing marker) you can fill out an ONLINE APPLICATION under New Address & Address Marker. A portion of your application can be completed over the phone by dialing the Zoning Office. Also available is a paper form request for New Address Sign or Replacement which can be printed and sent back by email or regular mail. Please review Support Documents Site Plan for documentation that may be required.
The county uses a green reflective marker that will be posted on site after an address request is made. In the event a sign is damaged or lost you will need to request a new replacement sign using the same application.
NEW DRIVE WAY ACCESS OR Right-of-Way (ROW) WORK PERMIT REQUIRED.
It is the legal responsibility of a property owner to make request and receive approval before any work is preformed in the ROW (right-of-way) of any road way. Standard ROW of a public road is 33 to 40 ft measured from the center of road, but can vary significantly in some instances. Approval is most commonly required for creating or improving a driveway that connects to a public road. When submitting a building or zoning application, proof of approval documentation will be required. An access driveway permit OR a Driveway Access Affidavit needs be completed with the appropriate road jurisdiction when seeking to do work in the Road ROW.
